SOME USEFUL INFORMATION FOR APPLICATORS
Estimating Cost of Material
Calculation: Sq/Ft Coverage
Sq/Ft Coverage =1600 X (%Solids /100) X (%Transfer Efficiency/ 100) / Mil Thickness.
Example: Material is 40% Solids. Transfer Efficiency is 80% (typical of spray) and coating thickness reqd is 0.5 Mil.
Sq/Ft= 1600 X (.40) X (.80) / (0.5) = 1024 Sq/Ft
Calculation for Coating Thickness Conversion
Calculation: Thickness Conversion
1 Inch = 2.54 cm = 25.4 mm
.001 Inch = 1.0 mil = .025 mm = 25.4 micron
Calculation for Bake Temperature Conversion
Calculation: Temperature Conversion
deg F=(deg C X 1.8) +32
deg C=(deg F -32) X 0.555
